I found this article and video about what Helena has said today in class. It is about how logistics has allowed reduce the time in the Pit Stop Formula 1. You can see a video that compares a race of 1950 and 2003. It contrasts a Formula 1 racing pit stop at the Indianapolis in 1950 with one in 2013 in Melbourne, Australia. THE TIME THE CAR WAS STOPPED WENT FROM 67 TO 3 SECONDS!!
Formula 1 is an example about how to have a good logistic and collaborative team can allow reduce times, something equally or more important than to have a good car.
This is an example focused on F1, but this shows that the role of logistics is becoming increasingly important to gain competitive advantages over the competition.
