Hi I found this article about the use of new technologies such as driverless vehicles in logistics.
Did you know that there are already iron mines that have driverless trucks operating within its terrain?
There are few improvements that they are providing or that will be able to provide if the technology is fully implemented in all roads:
- Efficiency: trucks can be operating full time, just needing to stop to re-fuel, even more it avoids the costs related to hiring a licensed driver for those type of vehicles and the time costs that imply the rest time or sleep time that the driver will need.
- Safety: the majority of accidents are caused by human distractions, machines do never distract and are designed to be able to react quickly to emergency situations.
Do you think this can be the future?
