As we know, the world of Logistics is improving day by day. Nowadays, a set of new technologies are appearing and stomping to stay. Among them we can find the use of drones, a technology that we discussed in class, and with this post, I wanted to show two videos that serve as examples to see how they are beginning to be used in real life.
In the first one, we can see a pizzeria in Mumbai that uses drones for home delivery:
In the second one, we can see how a German company has begun to develop the use of drones to satisfy medical needs. The goal of this company is to improve existing emergency infrastructure with a network of drones. This new type of drones can go over 100km/h and reaches its destination within 1 minute, which increases chance of survival from 8% to 80%! This drone folds up and becomes a toolbox for all kind of emergency supplies. Future implementations will also serve other use cases such as drowning, diabetes, respiratory issues and traumas.
With both videos we can see some of the great advantages of drones: speed, flexible working hours, no personal cost, and overall total cost reduction.
Although current drones are even smaller operators that can withstand loads of little weight, there is no doubt that in the future, they can get to convert in large appliances capable of supporting any load and can reach much more complex operations.
